How to Overcome Holiday Blues

The holidays are supposed to be the happiest time of the year. Yet for singles, it can trigger some deep feelings of sadness and anxiety. Even if you are “busy with your family,” there is still something missing in your heart for romance. It’s just human nature.

Here are 4 Quick Tips to Overcome the Holiday Blues!

Be Sociable: If sitting home alone only makes you feel more miserable, lonely and feeling self-pity, then get out of the house! Make plans with other single friends, dress up and go to holiday parties or even better, host your own holiday party. In the process of dressing up for parties or preparing your own party, your spirit will be lifted up. Actions are best cures for depression!

Get Sweaty: Exercise is a great way to burn off all your negative energy. Go to the gym and work out.  Take yoga, Pilate, or Zumba classes. If you already belong to a health club, don’t stop working out during the holiday. Not only you can burn off your negative energy, you can also burn off your extra calories from the holiday feast. One of my dear friends met her husband at herGYM on New Year’s EVE! Be surprised.

Do Self-Love Activities: You have been working so hard throughout the year, now is the time to relax. Go to the SPA, get a massage, manicure and pedicure.  Splurge on a facial or design a new hairstyle for you.  How about cleaning up your closet and getting rid of old clothes?  Go out shopping for some new clothes. We’re bombarded by stress from all sides: work, family, finances.  But DO NOT let stress be a relationship-killer. When you are relaxed and happy, people will naturally be drawn to you.

Set Intention and Goals for the New Year: Intention is the starting point of every dream.  It is the creative power that fulfills all of our needs, whether for money, relationships, spiritual awakening, or love. While we stay in busy mode all year with work, volunteering, planning, organizing, seeing friends and family, we tend to forget to make a relationship our priority. So we end up alone around the holidays! Set your intention now what you want to experience in love and relationship in 2019?

Happy Holiday!
